you should be able to break any amp at the fx loop out or preamp out. and insert your power amp.

Mmmm Im kinda stuck here with something simple. I just noticed that my PT has only one black and another black/red wire on the primary side. So would both of them be the same? Im trying to wire the 3 prong AC cord and was expecting 2 black wires and a ct black/red.

I was just going to wire the black>Fuse>Switch>PT and White>PT but now Im confused. Could I just replace the wires the way they are now? White for White, Black for black and Green ground.

yes that is common on the primary side.

Just fuse the hot leg of the ac coming into the amp.

And the other leg, can it go at the tie point of the switch/PT primary wire?" Or does it need to go straight to the Pt primary wire? Will it make a difference?

Ooops I got that figured out. Sometimes I just get stuck in the simplest of thing...

The glow lamp in front of the amp was in 120AC path and that kinda threw me off. I was just expecting the light to be fed from one 6.3 taps. I just went black>switch>fuse>PT and white>switch>PT the glow light connects to one leg from the switch and one leg from the fuse. Powered it up and it seems fine. I don't have an anp with a line out to test it. I'm going to run out and get a 1/4 inch to RCA cable so I can run the line out from my stereo.

I will report voltages later.

Usually you want the fuse first in line.
That way the swich and chassis are prevented from being hot in case of a catastrophic failure or short.

Black hot from wall, fuse, switch, primary.
The white neutral from wall connects to the other primary wire.
Then of course the green earth wire to the chassis as close to the entrance as possible.

I rewired it the AC cord way Structo pointed out. It powers on all tubes light up.

I measured the filter caps with my fluke and they all measure higher than what it is written on the side. The one 50 uF measured like 71 uF. I replaced one of them but will probably replace the rest.

I got plate voltage of 380V referenced to ground on both 6l6GC's

I connected a line out from my stereo. I used a cable with RCA (Yellow + Red) males on one end and a Stereo 1/4 inch tip on the other end. The input on the amp is mono. I got no sound tho??? Nothing seems out of place the tubes light up.

Am I SOL without an schematic?

I'd really like to get this amp going. If anybody could help I'd be eternally thankful. :)
