Yeah, very sad day for me. Dio was the guy back in my college days. Saw him last time maybe 5 or 6 years ago in Milwaukee with Scorpions and Deep Purple. Man, what a performer he was.

Rest in Peace Ronnie, your definitive Rock n Roll voice will be missed.

Just got back from a trip and was catching up on posts when I read this. This is very sad news! Dio was the man and had a truly inspirational voice in rock and roll. The energy of his performance and powerful voice lent conviction to the metal imagery of the time! Great stuff when hanging out in the school yard back in the Days of Old. Always feel a pang of loss when one of the greats leave us. His appearance (as himself) in Tenacious D's Pick of Destiny was excellent, inspiring Jack Black's character's rise to power. R.I.P Dio.
