Really Bad 70's Solid State Amps
I had two of the same brand name when I was young.
One a combo, another a head.
Thing is, I can't remember what they were.
I can tell you what they were not though...
Marshall
Silvertone
Ampeg
Sunn
Fender
Gibson
Park
No major label.
I have a link for "Every guitar amp ever made", and they were not in there.
http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl= ... f%26um%3D1
But they were definitely guitar amps, most assuredly solid state, and more than likely "department store" sold.
Name all you can think of.
Maybe you can ring my bell.
Think cheap.
Probably MIJ, but I can't be sure of that.

Which pic?selloutrr wrote:That pic looks like a Jordan
Look at the index...I somehow thought it started with a "V", so that is where I linked.
(I spent hours looking at some of those links...I know, No Life)!
I google-imaged the ones you listed that I didn't recognize.
No score yet.
Thank you all the same.
Could have been very late 60's, not real sure.
This could get fun...

Thank you.Structo wrote:That is a cool website!
Just another excuse to expose my latent OCD!
Shoot some names out.
The worse, the better.
They were black fake tolex, silver panel, no frills.
Seriously sucked.
Oldtimer's disease is hitting me hard but I forgot
about these amps as soon as they were gone (or blown up) and I never looked back.
Chit...I'm only 47 and don't even drink hard likker!

When I hit the link it took me to a google search pic

Hint...although a handy site...it isn't in there.
Happy guessing!
Re: Really Bad 70's Solid State Amps

That is a cool site, love it.
Its been a very diverse industry for a long time.
Hobby makers trying to grow, low end market back fill.

Spectra?
Baldwin?
Triumph?
Not "V"'s I know, but solid-state and mostly pretty lousy.

I had an old tube combo Vega tweed amp and I have never seen another one like it. It went with the other old gear I sold. Now I wonder why I got rid of a tweed amp.

Googled all of the suggestions.
No hits yet.
Happy hunting!
I ought to make this a contest...
