Repro TW logo for $100... yikes

Post by MCK »

No offense intended if the seller is one of us but come on... Is this really necessary?

Even if it was one of us thats still overpriced for a replica Logo.
If it was a original TW logo from ken's bench then I might spend that much for something to place over my Bench but thats it. I don't know but I feel like anyone who feels it is ok to place the TW Logo on a clone is not right. Thats my opinion. I'm just trying to understand how the price was determined to try to sell these logo's at that cost ? NOS replicas ?

Hey I have some NOS replica nuts and bolt from 1976, anyone think I can get $10 each for them.

Thanks! I wasn't sure if I would be stepping out of line in posting this but I fully agree with you. If it was an original I'd buy it for the same reason as you stated. Not to put on a clone but to honor a great builder. After all it would be all that I can afford of an original wreck...

Lets see where this one goes.

I give it another couple of hours before it gets pulled from eBay for copyright infringement... I think $100 for a fake logo is nuts but I sure someone is willing to pay it... It would be cool to have but $30-$40 seems appropriate.

Funny they can even post that on eBay. I'm not the seller. I have two original and 20 reproductions due to legal issues and respect none if them are for sale. I did post a pic of them but was ask to remove it from the forum.

I'll take 5 of the bolts and 5 of the nuts please. Does that include shipping and paypal fees?

Definitely not the right thing...did you see his prices for the Fender logos...way high (most likely figuratively also).

We could make a game out of this stuff, posting the over/under on how long it takes for TW related listings using the word "TW" to get pulled from ebay, I had to be close with my "couple of hours" guess...

A number of us'ns have pretty impressive TW logos. I never knew who was making them at the time. Without tipping your hand too far, how much did they run...way back in ought-7?

The logo's you are referring to never sold without a kit so the only ones floating around were from clones that never got badged. That is why the cost is going so high for a logo now. There are only so many in circulation and the demand is stronger then the supply.

Sorry I sucked up most of them.

The best guess is in bulk about $10 each

It's a good thing for the most part. It keeps some honesty and trust to eBay. It's based so much on trust that it's comforting to see that the site is monitored and policed as much as it is. It's in the rules it's not like they make it up as they go along.
