What was the frequency range of these OT's I know they were hifi to some extent but were these 20hz / 20khz? or much less?
Are there any serious full spec data sheets on these?

The original Stancor spec is 20Hz-20kHz +/0 1dB. That's pretty hi-fi!
Other specs are 150mA max DC on the primary winding, 35W rating.

i don't think they are listed as Stancor Hi-Fi. True Stancor Hi-Fi if i remember only had an 8 and 16 ohm tap. And were listed on a single page of Hi-Fi output transformers. If you look you can also see them cross with Merit and others..they look just the same. But i don't think i recall the 3801 being a 20-to 20 or hi-fi rated..

You're right in that they had a hi-fi range as well, whereas these are from the regular output transformer range.
The figures I quoted are the quoted specs from their catalogue for the A-3801 though, so it's still a very wide range OT to be within +/- 1dB over the entire audio range.

I thought somebody posted a real world test (it was a link) showing that the A3801 had a much more limited frequency range than other transformers, at least in practice. I remember seeing something like 80 or 160Hz to like 16kHz, less than what you would use for a hifi build.

I used the TA-17 modulation transformer listed in that PDF for a SE output transformer. The amp takes any 6L6/6V6/EL34 variant you throw at it. This is in the cool sounding harmonica amp I always talk about which was pretty much a failed guitar amp experiment
