Totally! especially the OT! ...and they're not that much "extra" coinage. :-)

I think the Pacific OT is the key as well, not that Heyboer isn't right but I did notice a great tone with the Pacific.

Its a subjective issue and could be debated and has been debated in the past.

Say no more, I'll go with the Pacifics. I appreciate the replies. Not to get off the subject, but I think its cool to see people with expertise in amp building helping new builders out. I'm sure I might need a little help somewhere along the way. By the way Glen, if you should happen across this thread, my wife is pissed at you for making all those unbelievable videos. now I HAVE to build a Wreck! Jim

You just need wider necks. That's what I do. :)

Actually I build my own. It's worked out good so far but I'm still waiting for my first turd.

Wind your own pickups? Not that i have large fingers, but if you took something standard like a Strat, do you just enlarge the neck and then enlarge the neck pocket, pickups, bridge?

I just look for the widest nut offered and go with that.

I need to seriously think about a custom some day.

I've never owned a strat or any bolt on style guitars, they've either been set necks or neck thru's with the latter being my preference tone wise. Pickups I buy.
