Source for knobs of a OD reverb and use of them

Post by jackson649 »

I just ordered a bankok chassis and he asked me if I wanted to order some knobs for the chassis. I've been looking for some correct looking knobs for this build but these don't look right. Does anyone know where to get correct looking knobs.

Also, looking at this chassis I just bought, the controls go,

vol
treb
mid
bass
send
return
overdrive
level

On most layout as well as my own
https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.php?t=1347 the layout goes

vol
treb
mid
bass
drive
level
master
reverb

How will the controls on my layout correspond to the labeled controls on the chassis?

I'm not sure how Natchanis does the reverb circuitry in that amp. Do you have a schematic?

The OD Reverbs I've seen have six tubes instead of five, with a reverb circuit that's shown in the Dumble Files section. I have a layout if you're interested.

I got my knobs at Mouser. p/n 506-PKS1106B1/4. They're a wee bit pricey ($4.47 ea.) but they look pretty close to the originals.

I've used Natchanis chassis, but I prefer to build my own boards.

Source for knobs of a OD reverb and use of them

Hello oldmacman, I would like to take a look at that layout if you don't mind. Thanks

But I think I didn't phrase my question properly. With the layout I have, VOL will go with th VOL slot in the chassis, along with treb, mid, and bass.

But on the chassis,the last four controls are labeled SEND, RETURN, OVERDRIVE, LEVEL. My layout has DRIVE, LEVEL, MASTER, REVERB. Am I correct to assume that..

Overdrive=Drive
Level=Level
Send=Master?
Return=Reverb?

Hope people understand what I am asking. Thanks

That would work (and is basically how I set my amps up). Natchanis probably has the amp configured as a non master with reverb send and return. The way you've planned to use your pots is much more practical.

It looks to me like your chassis is not meant for reverb, but rather for a built in FX loop. Send and Return would control the levels of the loop. If the loop is serial (like a Dumbelator), the Return knob would also act as a master volume for the whole amp.
