Valvetech Hayseed 30?

Post by strat_addict »

Does anyone know anything about this amp compared to a Rocket? I know the Hayseed has an EF86 channel, which I like, but I've heard alot of good things about both amps and cannot choose an amp for the life of me. I've been looking on the net for at least 8 months and just seem to be traveling in circles...

No but I know that VOX holds a trademark on the use of that grill cloth.
I am surprised that a commercial amp company put that on their product.

Don't let that smoke out!

I would have thought so too, but they don't. Their trademark was denied.

I actually had a Hayseed for 3 years (a record for me at the time). Jumpering the top boost and normal channels was just plain fun.

Unfortunately have never played a Rocket. Having said that, if you have no volume issues, I'd go for a Rocket. [/url]

I'm definitely going to need an attenuator if I go with the Rocket, I've got neighbors...

You will definitely need an attenuator with the Rocket at home, unless you like the sparkly clean tone only.

Having said that, you can get a beautiful clean tone at neighbour-friendly volumes so it's not the end of the world, but there's no chance of letting it rip at all without causing some aggravation!

Budget for a Faustine Phantom as well and you'll be a happy man!

Cool.

US Trademarks are always a hoot to read. Or maybe I'm strange.

They did abandon their first attempt, but on the successful one they got some heavier guns to support their position: Brian May, Eddie Kramer, and James D'Addario.

This is grotesque. The cloth design wasn't original in 1959 and has been used by numerous entities since then. What's next, a trademarked alphabet?

You can use the same cloth, just not in the same orientation. Put the cloth on sideways and it no longer resembles the TM drawing
Eardrums!!! We don't need no stinkin' eardrums!
