four 6v6 power amp

Post by andrew »

I have a 330v PT and a Dynaco 4.2k OT and I would like to know if anyone has any suggestions for a 4-6v6 power section.Thank you.

Do you mean a 330-0-330 secondary or a nominal B+ of 330V? Makes a difference!

you can treat them like a pair a 6l6, but.....

try and respect they're design max volt rating for the best lifespan.

for cathode bias you'll want an opt around 5 to 6 k

That one electron pt has taps to give around 370 peak volts with more than adequate current.

Well there is the 5E3 x 2 the weber has a layout and schematic for and then theirs the D'lite four 6v6 or Normster Dumble style four 6V6.

Yeah and it would work well I would think at least have a different flavor compared to going EL84s or 6L6s.

Natalie or the 5E4x2

A TW Rocket with 6V6s and a GZ34? (should be similar to a BFDR in voltages). Replace the screen resistors with 470R and you're good to go. (Or use a 5U4G?). Maybe use a 90mA choke and as long as the HT winding is good for about 200mA, with about 4A heater winding.
