Good point, Tony: I'm using one of Brandon's Twin OPTs in my D'Lite. Not as lite, I might add.talbany wrote:Just make sure your Output transformer can handle the extra power.. 2 KT-88 @ 500v give you almost 80 watts RMS..

A D-Lite w/ Twin PT loaded w/KT-88...
My Traynor YBA1-A loaded 2 JJ KT-88's..Conversion runs 496 and seems to sound best biased slightly cold as well.. Around 40ma...I am surprised more people don't do more KT-88 D-style amps ....I am a fan

Can't seem to find any specs on it though. Thoughts anyone?
Thanks!

I gotta try the '88's in mine for sure.

						Re: Lowering B+
I have the Prosonic output transformer in my D'lite as well.
I can't find it at Angela anymore so I guess they don't carry it.
This is the info I have on it.
PROSONIC. For repairs or build an ass kicking 50W combo (or head) with a pair of 6L6s. Upright end bell construction. Standard push-pull primary with three wires; red center tap, brown and blue plate leads. Somewhat unusual (for a Fender...) secondaries make this transformer useful for those of you with Marshall 4X12"s; black common wire, green/yellow 4 ohm tap, green wire for the 8 ohm tap, yellow wire for 16 ohms. Measures approx. 3.75"X3"X3.375" tall. Mounts to chassis with four screws, mounting centers 3.5"X2". GENUINE FENDER PART #049009
I think it is 4K2 impedance.
All I know is that it is about 3 times bigger than the stock OT that came with my kit.

Re: Lowering B+
Yeah!! even @ idle the 88's will deliver about 60 watts so with an OPT rated 50w is pushing the envelope..especially with an OD amp or a pedal in front pushing a square wave can heat things up pretty quick.. Personally I wouldn't recommend it.
.A 68 YBA1 is a pretty sweet amp.. The YBA1.A MK2 is a Bass amp.. though it has 2 EL-34's it's rated at 100 by how he runs the 34's..The plate voltages are high 500+ so the 88's worked well w/100w rated OPT.. Hammond I believe in those..

That is some nice looking wood Tony.
A good cabinet maker is worth his weight. As long as they don't charge too much!

I have yet to build a real cabinet but it's on the to do list for the next decade.....
