Liverpool Presence control - does this look right?

Post by fzfwyv »

Hey guys, thanks for the help with my bass question earlier. I'll keep you informed to what I end up doing.

My next nit-pick question is about the presence control and how it is shown on the schematic vs. how it looks on the layout (and in the amp).

Can one of you experts verify this is correct (or not correct)? I would think Mark's schematic is the correct version to work from, so I believe the layout is wrong.

If it's wrong could you help me make it correct? Thanks so much.

I'm also open to suggestions for improvements. I want to make this amp the best it can be and I think I am 90% there!

Thanks and I appreciate the help!

-Rich

Indeed the schematic does not match the layout. There are several possibilities to wire a presence control. The schematic is one working option.

Good luck!

It would appear the layout is wrong if you're talking about the 3d layout in the files section. The schematic is right and works very well on my Liverpool. This type of circuit also has the benefit of removing DC from the pot so it isn't scratchy when you turn it.

Just my 2 cents.

Indeed this schematic prevents pot scratch because the cap blocks any DC which is not already shunted to ground by the 4.7k resistor. So this may be the best option.

Thanks guys.

Made some changes.

Can you please confirm this pic is correct to the layout? Presence pot will be a 25k linear....is that what you used Dana?

Thanks!!!!

Yes that's what I used and it works fine! I can't see the pic behind he firewall here at work but if you go with the schematic values and wiring you should be fine.
