1969 Teisco del Rey ET-100

Post by David Root »

OK you old bargain bin guitar mavens, is this what I think it is? I am thinking of cleaning it up a bit and using it for slide with a #13 Dumble 50W I am starting on.

Pickup measures 4.96K and I bought it at a Deseret Industries thrift store in Salt lake City about six years ago.

I'm not certain the pot knobs are original but they do fit.

Those work great for slide.

If it has the pickups that are sought then it will make a great one.

I believe Ry Cooder uses those offbeat Teiscos a lot not to mention the late Hound Dog Taylor.

Except he used the four pickup model!

Thanx Structo. I must have tagged it right, no-one said it was anything else!

It only has one pickup, marked SPECTRUM. The pole pieces are staggered 3 by 3, with the words BASS and TREBLE where you would expect to see them.

I think Hound Dog's is a bit older with different pickups as the polepieces are not staggered.
