differences between Liverpool and Express

Post by aaronz28 »

trying to decide exactly what I want to do..

i just purchased "Sunny" a Liverpool clone and i'm really enjoying this amp..

historically, i've not been a fan of EL84 amps, but this amp rocks..

i'm curious to know, however, what the difference between the Liverpool and the Express would be aside from the typical differences between an EL84 and EL34 amp.

originally, i though i'd simply mod this one, but i do like it just as it is.. so i'm thinking about building an Express Kit...

Any help

The Liverpool and Express share some things in common. They both have that Trainwreck magic going on.
The main difference and others can chime in.

The fullness is a little less on the liverpool due to the EL84's compaired to the EL34's in the express.

The liverpool is slighty more vox sounding then the Express

The Liverpool is cathode biased and the Express is not.

The Liverpool just lets the best of El84's character shine and the Express EL34.
