I've got my amp up and running. It was built using the the ODS 101 non HRM schematic with very few changes. The following parts were used to build it.
1. Weber PT- 325-0-325, 200ma.
2. Weber OT- 4k primary, 2-4-8 ohm secondary, 40 watt. Currently I've got JJ 6v6 tubes in the amp. This transformer just doesn't sound that good with 6L6 tubes. I like it better with 6V6's. I've got a Magnetic Components Bassman OT on order so I can go ahead and use 6L6 tubes.
3. The chassis is a Watts Audio blank chassis, 20"x8"x2.5".
4. The components are standard parts used on these amps.
Thanks to all for the knowledge, mods and info on what works and what doesn't.

Congratulations on the build. Looks really clean and well done. How do you like the sound?

Thanks Bob. I really like the sound, it'+s different from anything I've ever built or owned. I'm not really trying to get anyone's tone out of the amp. I like blues-rock and blues. Looking for a clean to rippin' sound out of my Strat. I think this amp will do it fine.

I'm the same way. I'm not looking to sound like Larry, Robbin or Carlos, I just want a good ripping tone from it. I have yet to play a production amp that leaves me feeling as good about my sound as these amps!kd wrote:Thanks Bob. I really like the sound, it'+s different from anything I've ever built or owned. Thanks guys, much appreciated. Without this forum it would not have been possible. I've never seen a Dumble or a clone for that matter.
When the new transformer comes in I'll give it a try with a set of
TAD 6L6WGC tubes that I have. If they don't work I'll have to see if I can round up some Winged =C= tubes when funds come available.
