Here's a pretty good deal on load resistors. They have several different flavors.

Those little things! Here are some man-ly resistors. 600W @ 4.3 ohms each.

I bought these on ebay a few years back when I would still work on transistor amps. But they don't even get warm with 100W tube amps.

what would you use those for ...
  • Providing a load to the amp that replaces a speaker?
  • Running parallel to another speaker to correct an ohm load?
I'm guessing it would just give off heat rather than sound ... but represent a speaker load. Is that correct?

I use them as load resistors when testing amps. Like I said, very useful on large transistor power amps, but overkill on most tube stuff.
