question about dynaco color code

wich taps are the ultra linear taps? there is a blue, a blue/white, a green and a green/white. the green wires are thicker. This is a output transformer from triode electronics, thanks

Old topic, but I'm trying to get my head around this.

In the spec sheet linked up above, the '2nd tube' plate and the common of the secondary are on the same side (bottom), but on the diagram for the clone OT the secondary common is on the top and the dot that I thought implied the 'end' of the OT is at the top as well. I thought this meant that the top blue/white wire would go to the '2nd tube.' But it's opposite of the original spec sheet....Am I completely off here?

Here is what you are missing from the same wed site. See the labelled wiring schematic at the bottom of the page. I know this because this is what I used when I built my Rocket. :)

EDIT: I hadn't clicked on Gary's old attachment when I sent this, so now you have me confused as to your question. Gary's attachment and mine are the same and clearly show how to wire the transformer. :?:

I was informed that in transformer diagrams the little black dot refers to the end (not sure on the terminology) of the primary, or the negative side of the PI (basically v6 and v7 in a rocket right?).

In all the diagrams I've seen the 'end' of the primary was opposite of the common of the secondary. But if I follow this, then the two dynaco diagrams real thing vs. clone are opposite. Note how the common is switched on the two, and notice that the black dot is on the blue/white of the clone, while the original says that the blue is the "2nd tube" which I assume would be v6 and v7 of a rocket. Hope I'm explaining this OK.

works great for over a year now, done away with the ul taps.

Yeah I'm not considering the UL taps. I'm just talking about where the blue/white and blue taps go to the power tubes respectively. From my understanding, of which I'm sure is flawed, the two diagrams seem opposite.

So you went blue/white to v4 and v5, and blue to v6 and v7?

I see what your talking about but I never really thought much about it.

I only watched my old company I worked for at young age of 20 make transformers once. I was in the supply end of house at AC/DC Electronics, Oceanside, California. It was interesting but I never put things together as to how things were wound.

We do have some tranny experts on line so hopefully they will answer the question.
