If you're talking about a bottom plate for the chassis, you will probably need one.

You can leave it off if you want the added benefit of picking up radio stations and flouresent lights and such. It's pretty cool getting baseball scores in between songs though

At least it's a tubes up chassis....seriously, Richie aimed me at aluminum flashing for duct work or roofing, at home depot. I think it's about .007" and easy to cut. I have access to a bench cutter, but av shears will do fine.

I've broken the rules, but on the Liverpool and Express that I built I just stuck copper shielding tape to the floor of my cabinets (that wide stuff), and aluminum foil, because that's what I had. It seems to work.
However, if I had easy access to aluminum sheet metal I would have done that.

that will work too. I use a little bit heavier stuff than the flashing. I get sheets of aluminum from a trophy shop. It also has a peel off protector on one side. So i just trim the edge where it contacts the chassis. And leave the rest on. That way it should help if anything were to touch it.
Its like 7.00 a sheet. Plus you can make faceplates for home brews out of it..
I usually get gold or silver, but it comes in all different colors and types.
kind of like this.

Hobby lobby also has thin roll copper.
