Thanks for posting pics of this build. Its looking quite clean.
Getting the itch to do one myself.
Is everything included in this kit ?
I heard the clips of this amp with verb and was looking for one
but of course no one is selling one .
l@@ks like its build or wait for one and I like the looks of this build
jamming right along .
How quick did the kit arrive and is everything included ?
Much thanks in advance and keep up the good work.
Inspiring to watch them being laid out and built up.
Makes this tin horn want to try to build one up.
Always fun to look under the hoods of these.
Thanks for sharing.

Re: monkey 88 progress
Welcome Kingtone,
These are nice amps.
Really the only D kit around.
But, unless you have previous experience in building amps, this may be a bit much.
Right now there is a guy over at the Brown Note forum that is having a lot of trouble building his because he has never even soldered anything before.
This is a very complex build with the reverb and all.
If you want to get into amp building I would suggest an easier kit to get your feet wet and to learn the ins and outs of tube amps.
Please excuse me if you do have experience, just trying to help.

Tom thanks I have done some building before but its been awhile.
I might go with your advice though....
I am looking at the red plate magic dust duo I might just get in line
for one of those.
Id just take my merry time on the build if I went for it.
I will read up on the wait times on those kits though.
I would expect kits to ship once paid for so I need to think about that.
I am already waiting on some other builds and thats tough enough
I know it will be well worth my wait though..
I might get a redplate amp as well they sound great.
I am no harry joyce just yet with a soldering gun but
I have done some work before....
I have done all my own amps for the past 20 years unless something stumps me and I cant find it.
I might just do a mod to my 68 twin which has had work already
and do a skyline mod to that amp.
Brandon shed some light on a mod I can do to get into sss territory
and that has me pacing with curiosity as well.
I might just ease into this pool.
Thanks for the advice I plan on asking and learning here so
thats what I seek.

Re: monkey 88 progress
It sounds like you have a handle on it.
I don't mean to discourgage you at all.
Just to prepare you for a rather complex build, but as with anything, if you take your time and just go through the various stages, it can be done.
The worst thing I see from the first timers is the soldering.
You gotta make those nice shiny smooth solder joints or you will be
chasing your tail.
From what I hear and what I can see, I don't think you could go wrong buying a Redplate or any amps that a few of these guys sell commercially.
VVT Amps, Bludotone, Redplate, Carol Anne, Brown Note and probably a few I am forgetting.
I am going to send you a Private Message.

Re: monkey 88 progress
Have you experienced a 100 watt D amp before?
I'd sure like to hear a D'Lite 50 and a D'Lite 100 in an A/B test.
What is weird is that the sound clips on the Brown Note site are the same for the 22 and the 44 but neither sound like my amp......

Not one of my better player daze if you know what I mean but this will give you a idea on what this amp is capable of. The amp is still not broken in yet and the recording is clipping pretty bad with the camcorder.

Re: monkey 88 progress
Is that with the onboard reverb?
A little heavy but the tone sounds like it is happening.
By the levels of your controls that had to have been pretty loud!
What guitar was that with?

Great sounding amp.
Both clean and OD.
The cam mic must be missing the low end
Congrat's
