does anybody prefer a 150K slope on high plate classic?

I'm using a 100K with a .047 mid cap - sounds great by itself but was a little bass heavy and didnt cut real well live.
thoughts?

Hmm that wouldnt be my personal choice for the mid cap. and it's probably why youre not cutting through. i like to go as low as possible. i use .01 or .015 for my mid caps on the clean side. if it's an HRM i use the same for clean but i use a .008 for the HRM and have a switch that brings it down to .004 while also lowering the bass cap.

generally i dont LOVE the 150k slopes. ive been lowering them to 120K but ive been adding switches to change them too.

maybe its the 10uf's on cl1 and cl2 - I really like the tone of it - arggggghhhh

Try putting a 330pf or 390pf silver mica for the treble cap.

Also, depending on what guitar you mostly use, guys change the mid cap as mentioned.

You can change the slope resistor if you want to change the knee of the tone stack.

One thing I did on my D'Lite is the OD entrance mod.
This is where you add a .05uf cap after the 220K resistor.
So you have the trimmer, then the 220K, then the .05uf cap.
The layout I have also shows a 10M resistor going from the cap to the cathode ground of V1 as a pop killer.

What this mod does is place the .05uf in series with the .05uf V1b coupler ( I have an .02uf cap here) when the OD is engaged. Really takes the woofiness out.

Adjust your OD trimmer to 25K-35K ohms wiper to ground.
