Music Man amp wiring

I have replaced the convenience outlet in a Music Man RP100 amp. The schematics on the MM site are difficult to discern as to color of wire.
The previous outlet had a black wire from the power cord run to it, the white wire (neutral) wired to the end of the fuse holder and the other tab on the fuse holder went to the power switch...that wire is black. Isn't this a prescription for a big spark???
Can anyone shed some light on this or point me to an easily readable schematic or diagram for the proper wiring?

I don't know how old that amp is, but current practice as it's been shown to me is to wire as follows:

Line+ > fuse > switch > wherever...PT, switched outlet.
Neutral > wherever...PT, outlet.

If you are wiring the convenience outlet so it is unswitched, you can use a fuse if you want and bypass the switch. Just make sure you do a proper job of parallel wiring so the amp isn't also bypassing the switch. BTW, there is nothing wrong with using a double pole switch to make/break both the line and neutral, and it's not a bad idea. I think, though, you always want the fuse on the hot leg, not the neutral.

As to color, USA standard line cord is black (Line+), white (neutral), green (ground). Inside the amp, past the point of "penetration", colors change. White is the standard color for the Line+, and black is typically ground/neutral. I don't think there is any regulatory code about this, so consistency may be non existent, but this may explain what you are seeing -- the reversal of black and white.

Finally, I could be wrong about all this and would be very happy if someone would weigh in on it one way of the other.

they have very readable schems there. as for your amp, just a guess,most all music man amps or similar models of them, are probably wired the same for that section.
but the schems there,can be blown up and are readable.

Thanks team...M Fowler...looking at that diagram, specifically at the CV (convenience outlet) rotated to be upright, is the hot side on the right or left?

Hot/black from the outlet (brass screw) is going to the fuse then to switch.

OK...that is what I figured. I need to get a couple of these amps into a qualified tech...at least one other one has the back tag from the fuse going to the neutral blade of the convenience outlet.
