Hello everybody! I have a Vox AC30CC (not exactly a Rocket, but...) that I plan to mod. The list includes:
-DIY Brake Lite
-Rocket Output Transformer
-VVR
-DPTTP Switch for Power/Standby
The Brake Lite is already underway, and the OT will be further down the road, when RJ gets them in stock. However, I'm having trouble with the VVR and DPTTP switch. The schematic can be found at the following:

Dana says to insert the VVR between the rectifier output and the choke. Am I correct in thinking this would be at TT21 (pg. 7)? Also, can anyone tell me if the DPTTP switch will work with the Vox? Thanks for any help!

I believe you would want the VVR at the HT-1 on page 5.
That is the point between the rectifier and choke.
I'm not sure what you mean by DPTTP?
Do you mean DPDT?
So you want a switch with a center off, then Standby and Power on the other sides?

Thank you for the response! The DPTTP is a Double Pole Triple Throw Progressive switch that is supposed to allow for Off-On-On (Off-Standby-Power) capabilities. (It can be found at WestLabs and Allen Amps.) The problem I have is it only has 4 lugs, whereas my Power and Standby connections currently use 6 (4 power and 2 standby). Is it possible to consolidate, or do I need to look into a different switch? Anyone? Thanks again Structo!
BTW, isn't HT-1 and TT21 one in the same? I'm pretty sure TT21 is simply a terminating point...

You'll wire the standby as it currently is, using the set of contacts that are connected together only in the 3rd (play) position.
For the power you have to forego the double-pole switching, which is required as a safety measure in certain markets, and just switch the live connection. The neutral connection you'll tie from the IEC inlet straight to the transformer rather than via the switch.
It's a shame it isn't double-pole plus the progressive standby switch, but there doesn't seem to be tendency towards switching the neutral as well for safety in the US.

Thanks paulster! That is what I needed to know! Yes, it is a shame about the switch not being double pole plus the progressive standby switch. I would like to keep the circuit as close to stock while doing my mods. Oh well... I guess it's not that big of a deal. Thanks again!

Yep, the pic shows 4 terminals; OK for single pole operation (Mains I/O, B+ I/O). AES' describes the switch as DPST - double pole, single throw - while it should be a SPTT with only 4 terminals or DPTT with 6. Add a P for progressive.How do you wire that switch it doesn't have six terminals like I see many use for play-standby-off?
Using Carling references (Cf. the enclosed datasheet) the switch could be a 2GG51-73.
2GG: progressive two circuits, maintained
5: 10A 250V
1: 1/4" solderable tabs
73: standard bat toggle
So either the pic is wrong or the description is false... Oh well.
