I have a lot to learn about designing tube amps.
The VVR voltage limiting trim pot is already part of the layout. :)
So we will try with 250V or maybe a bit higher. Fortunately, we have roughly 100 pieces of EL95. So if a set craps out we still can reduce voltage.
BTW, below's a nice schem of an old german Sennheiser EL95 hifi amp.
Tubes are run at 315V. This is why I thought we would be on the safe side with 300v. Of course HiFi amps are rarely built to be overdriven :lol:

Wow! 100 pieces... In that case why not try 400V. :lol: Thank's for the schematic. That looks interesting. "Markus" sounds possibly German also..?

Build the amp with the iron you can afford and get your hands on easy for now as your very likely to be going back in as moding the amp anyway once you get it up and running and have lived with it a while, at that point you can up grade to iron with more mass if you hear a need for it!
