Mesa Mark V Reverb Depth/Mix increase

Post by beedoola »

I wanted to know if there is a way to increase the wet mix on the Reverb. I upgraded the reverb pan and that helped but even with the Reverb mix all the way up it still isn't as wet as I'd like it to be.

my gut says either increase r60 or decrease r59
easy test is parallel a 33k resistor to r59. that would approximate a 10k resistor

Increase C29 to 22 to 25 uf.

With just a ratty little 12AX7 section, Boogie reverb circuits can't drive much nearly as much power into the tank as Fender reverbs that use a parallel pair of 12AT7.
I'd look at trying a JJ ECC823 to push more signal into the tank (and linking out the R58); then you've got more chance of getting a decent signal out of it :D
May benefit from tweaking the bias for the ECC82 drive section.

12dw7 is so great for single tube reverb (generally using organ salvaged tanks with higher input impedances so i have yet to use a transformer-driven reverb)

Do you mean to 22 or 25uf?

What do you mean by "linking out" R58?

Use one or the other. Heck, even use a 47µF. The idea is to use a bigger cap and the driver gain will increase.

Replace R58 with a piece of wire.
