Why not just buy a bunch of 2K and measure them. Mine measure anywhere from 1.8 to 2.15

That's strange, I could have sworn I have bought the 2K Alpha from AES before but now when I look, they don't seem to carry them.

On my last 100w build I got a NOS 2.5K Allen Bradley pot from Apex Jr.

Don't let that smoke out!

You can always take the back off and scrape the pot up to the value you need. A couple hundred ohms is pretty easy

I tried searching Mouser and couldn't find them. They do have them though...

I use 5K pots then put a resistor in parallel in parallel. Works fine as the pot is linear taper. Then I can get an "custom" resistance I want. High resistance just means "duller" tone in regards to presence though.

I have a source for NOS Centralab 2K5 pots. They have about a 3" brass shaft which would have to be cut down. They are PCB mount type but could be used panel mount style, see pic.

I bought two, they are marked 2K but are nearer 2.5K. One is 2.50K, the other is 2.38.
