As-drawn is here: https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.ph ... 52#p386452 with commentary on switching to LED on when OD is on. I said earlier this one is different, and I wasn’t sure how you had it working.

Martin,
So I need to reverse all 4 connections, NO1 NC1 and NO2 NC2 on the relay board?

Re: 100w Bluesmaster HRM new build
thanks Martin,
all sorted now.
Footswitch working perfectly with your no FET on OD mod too
I think while it's out of the head cab I'm going to do the 50/100w switch. It might save a speaker if i take it on a smaller gig and forget it's a 100w amp!

I am having a TL606 cab (15” version of the TL806) being made at the moment. It is a small cab for a 15. I have a EVM15L waiting to go in. That is an option. Fewer high-power options than 12", but still some interesting choices in 50-75W per driver range. A single 15" would be another different interesting direction to look.norburybrook wrote: ↑Sun Jul 01, 2018 10:42 pm I'm just debating if I should make a matching cab? Something different would be nice.
Perhaps a sealed ported 2x10?
Could it take 100w?....3x10 [emoji3]
A 4x10" would be super.
Best .. Ian
I have a lovely marshall 4x10 with celestions but no way would they handle the BM if it got loud.
1 x 15 is an interesting thought, like SRV's Vibro verb. hmm that could be interesting.
what sort of cab you put a 1x15 in? I could make a sort of slightly taller oval backed Dumble type cab, that would be cool. I bet it wouldn't need to be that much bigger really than the 1x12 baffle.

If it sounds good, it is good! Trust your ears

Update:
Fitted the 50-100w switch while it was out of the cab.
Made a blue cable to match the cab [emoji3]
All done.

Marcus, I am curious if you prefered the 50W or 100W Bluesmaster amps you build?
Re: 100w Bluesmaster HRM new build
The blue covering looks amazing! I will have to find a place that sells that and try it on a future build.
Great work!
Cheers

@Guy, it's pig suede
don't tell my vegan wife!!!!
@Raphael,
50w or 100w they both sound great, there's not a lot in it really, the 100w gives you that extra low end 'punch' in the back of the legs if you need it, and your speakers can deliver it
Sometimes you need to take the edge off things so 50w is perfectly fine. it's a simple addition that is worth doinf to any 100w amp I'd say, a switch, two resistors and an LED, why not.
Dumble amps are one of the few amps where the master volume really works well once you get into the ballpark so again you can dail that into the equation for more possibilities.
If you're only using a single speaker cab with say a G12 65- or a classic 80 then I'd switch to 50w just as a precaution anyway. My friend blew up an EVM12-L with my 100w BM...they're loud....

Re: 100w Bluesmaster HRM new build
Thanks for the reply Marcus. I am really tending towards a Bluesmaster for the next amp as soon as I finish the one on my banch. Still tentative about 50W vs 100W and 6L6 vs KT66norburybrook wrote: ↑Fri Sep 14, 2018 3:30 pm @Guy, it's pig suededon't tell my vegan wife!!!!

As far as speakers I am with you regarding the efficient ones, my favourite now is the 102db Celestion Neo (Uk made, not the crappy Vintage). I am longing to try the 80W classic 80 (your favourite) and the EVM S, probably on the next 2x12 cab. I usually like 2x12 more than 1x12 but many thanks for pointing out the incident with the EVML. And by the way for me the G12-65 is just yerk...not my cup of tea at all, so dulll sounding...might work well on very bright amps tho.
As far as the 50W/100W switch I feel that there is always a compromise/ problem (gain reduction) when going from 100W to 50W. The right way would be to simultaneously wither change the GNFB value or change the OT tap for example from 4ohm (100W) to 8ohm (50W). Therefore I think I’d rather get either or

Another thing which I was checking on the BM is the parallel 25K presence control and the 4.75K which I think it would be approximately 4K. The JTM45 has the 5K presence on its own, so all together almost the same!

This blue suede looks great.
