Alexander's open back cabinet research unrevealed.

Take a close look at this cabinet. I have looked everywhere for the dimensions of that hole because I built that exact cabinet a long time ago. I never throw anything away but I can't find the drawing Howard gave me. That's an Altec 417-8H in there. I've got an -8C here and it measures 12.125 inches in diameter. You should be able to estimate something close, double it and make it vertical and have a nice open back set. Lets take a stab at it. I think you draw two 9" circles whose centers are 5.75" apart and cut them together. Something like that. Double the square inches for the twin.

I sure like that pedal. I'm gonna build one just like it.

Good Luck and thank Rob Livesey for the pictures

12 x 20 3/4 x 26 1/2 are external dimensions. The hole in the back panel is 7 x 14 with a 3.5 inch radius at each end.
Pictured below is actually a Two Rock cab copy of a Dumble cab. With Tone Tubby speakers and a MKIIC+ head.

Hey, that amp looks alot like mine! What an odd coincidence. :lol:

The specs I used are:
Cab = 20" High x 10 1/4" Deep x 20 3/4" Wide
Rear baffle = 16" high
Oval = 11.5" x 9"

For cab dimensions for a 2 x 12", check out a two rock 2 x 12.
Edit: Looks like you already got it. :oops:

Normster, are you talking about the separator between the chassis and the speaker enclosure as the rear baffle?

No, actually those are my combo dimensions in case Mat wanted to build a cab the same size. Sorry, that was kind of confusing. :?

BTW, pretty similar, eh?
