Do you think there are any fakes being touted as "real&

Post by tjauernig »

I've been reading some recent posts on here about certain Dumbles, who owns them, who originally owned them and such for quite some time now. It's interesting, so I started poking around in Internet land. There's a listing out there of who owns what (by #), and so on. I personally know of someone who owns 3 Dumbles, 2 of which he purchased in the late 70's, and is the original owner, and has the documentation to prove it.

Point being, 2 of his 3 Dumbles are on the list as being currently owned by other individuals, complete with incorrect pictures.

How does this happen?

Proving, once again that Wiki info is spotty, at best.

It seems to me that the expense in locating 'period-correct' components in the correct values is going to make an accurate counterfeit an expensive project.
