3 day dubugging lowered the B+ voltage with a NOS philips 5u4 to 257 volts the Mullard GZ34 was 304 B+ volts. Nice bass and midrange
not to excided with the rocket alone but with 2 express amps all at the same time it kills. Had a slab of redwood burl for the cab. used a mullard ecc83 v-1 and usa 7025 v-2 & v-3 and had a set of old groove tubes rating #5 el84 dated 1981 IM using now.
Thank you all for the info to build this one

+1 on the crazy burlwood! Is that "old growth" from the dawn of time?
Nice job on both of your amps. What does your Rocket do that's not
too rewarding?
All excellent things are as difficult as they are rare__B Spinoza
Lonely Raven, All clones. I had ordered a express from ken but never
got a real one he was sick at the time . later I asked him if I could build one. Now I have built five gave one to a long time friend and gig with the other 3. Jim Rolph has made some great pickups for me and voice well with the TW amps. Will see how the band likes the rocket tonight?
Thank's for the thumbs up,
Regards Steve.
Noel Grassy, It's just IM not a el84 fan maby a quad of 7189 made in holland may change my mind. I like mullard and RFT el34's and GEC kt77's and GEC kt66 power tubes. RCA 6v6 6l6gc black plates, and yes that is verry old redwood burl.
