Voltage Cap?

Post by sergio »

Since I haven't found cap with exat value , if I use a voltage more high that required is a problem?

Example: 10uF 50V instead of 10uF 25V
4,7uF 100V instead of 5uF 25V

Thanks

For electrolytic capacitors like you describe, that is fine and in many ways somewhat preferable. The only place where I have noticed a clear difference is between a 1,000V ceramic cap and a 50V ceramic cap of the same value (47 picofarads) in the bright switch on my amp. So I think it might make a difference for some capacitors that are passing audio signal, but not for the most part.
