My Wreck is alive!

Post by highway31 »

Hi there,

please take a look at the photos.

Things that are still missing.... DYMO labels on the back and a set of Visseaux 6V6!

Regards,
Jochen

Nice build. It's a shame that Kiwame don't make a 1M 2W resistor though, so you can't use them all the way through! :?

You're from europe right jochen?

I'm asking because of the components choice, aparts from the mallory type coupling caps, I'm doing mine using pretty much the same you did...

How do those hammonds sound in there? I notice you used a 200mA PT, do you plan on using el34's too?

Congrats beautiful build.

Very nice. Even cleaner than the military Wrecks. I can appreciate the time that went into that one...whew!

It will be interesting to hear how it sounds with the unique choice of components and the angular lead dress.

Great job.

Gosh, that's a build that would make even Harry Joyce smile. Talk about precision.

A tone report is in order! Tung Sol, me jealous ;)

+1. I am very curious about the sound. But I must say that build is a work of art on its own.
Wife: How many amps do you need?
Me: Just one more...

Paulster, yes, indeed! They sent me 1M/5W instead

Riscado, yes, I live in Germany. And no, I don't plan on using EL34s. I have some pairs of Visseaux 6V6 and I buildt the Wreck for these kind of tubes.

i have a similar style chassis from one of my cheaper builds. how do you mount that chassis to the headshell without any mounting screws?

I've printed all pics on Glossy to show my wife when she gets home from work..."You see honey...THIS is what i'm struggling for...German engineering...clean design...quality product...needless to say, you don't get there on one or two build..."

Truly inspiring!

wsaraceni, I fixed 5 (...still 4) rivets on the original Hammond bottom plate. The complete amp chassis will be held in the headshell with the matching screws. The pics are self-explanatory...

Greta job Jochen! That's got to be the cleanist wiring I've ever seen. If there was award for it, you'd win

Nice Job Highway!!!! where did you get the green MO resistors? The ones you used on the bias circuit and 1 ohms for you cathode bias points? Not the Kiwames.
