Need ideas for Twin Amp chassis!
I recently picked up a Twin Amp chassis,(less the pcb). It has output trans., choke, and reverb trans. All tube sockets are mounted to chassis,(12 in all), and the rectifier board is there. Do I convert to to AB763, and plug the unused tube sockets, or do something neat and add more controls. It looks like the pcb setup had everything, effects loop, balanced line out, etc. I anyone has converted one of these before, I would sure appreciate your thoughts. Thanks!

no contest: if it uses 4 output tubes, you can reuse the output tranny for a Dumble clone. you could have verb and active loop with tubes left over. If it is one of those 6 output tube monsters you may want to get a different output tranny. Then you could go with a 50 or 100 watt clone since you have to buy a power tranny anyway.

It has the 4 6L6 output tubes.
I notice on the AB763 circuit, they only use 6 of the 9 pin tubes. It would be nice to maybe have an effects loop or??????????.

The AB763 is a great amp, yet I think you'd want to setup one of the channels for dirt. The extra noval sockets are great in that if you want to retain stock reverb and vibrato, you'll have enough stages available for a good dirty channel. You'd also have enough triodes left for a tube buffered Fx Loops if you really want it.
