20Watt OT

Post by TUBEDUDE »

So for small builds what are you using for 20 Watt 6k6 Ohm OT's with 4 and 8 Ohm secondaries?
I used my last Classictone 40-18087 last year.

We need to get Dan from amppartsdirect in here. Heyboer will make anything and he only needs to know the things we use to stock them.

I used Edcor on my last build, sounded good and looks good!

I think their transformers are overspec too, the 25W unit I bought is the same size as a Marshall 50w OT!

You might want to look at Musical Power Supplies. It is a long time since I bought from him and I haven't built an amp in at least 5 years, probably more. The good news is that he's still there and he has more offerings. IMO, his prices are reasonable, even with shipping.

Go a little more than half way down the page and look for "OT20PP Family Push-Pull OT's (25 WATT)" and "OT22PP Family Push-Pull OT's (22 WATT)
for 6V6/Deluxe circuits." These are 6.6K to 4-8-16Ω.

I used his iron on my most recent build (Is Potato). Sturdy, good looking iron at a fair price. No complaints here.
