I've found a military 315-0-315 CCS power tranny in my stack of stuff. It's like the one Dart was talking about the other day. It's good for .17 amp (170ma). Is this too light and too much voltage for an express with EL-34s? Considering it's CCS and all? I imagine it'll make a nice 6V6 tranny.

Re: Transformer suitability
From what I read on a few sources online was that a 50% uprating in current is suitable for intermittent use. There for you would be good for:
170mA + 85mA = 255mA
If you used SS diodes, your theoretical B+ is 445V. You can use a zener to dump some voltage between the rectifier and first filter node to get you within range (~400V B+ IIRC). This PT should handle 2 EL34s.
