I barely notice the mid boost on my Bluesmaster HRM

Greetings all,

A while back thanks to the help of this forum I managed to stumble my way through getting a Bluesmaster HRM style amp up and running. The amp has a footswitch-able OD, PAB, and Mid Boost.

However, "mid-boost" only barely (if at all) impacts the tone coming out of the amp.

Is this common? The Fat/Lean switch on this amp almost seems like it would be more appropriate to be at the footswitch.

the mid boost is subtle I find too. Not worth putting on a relay IMHO...the fet...now that is worth putting on a relay.

My favorite Mid Boost setup is that from the #124 Non HRM Low Plate .

The Treble cap is .002uf on the board and anywhere from 300pf to 320 pf on the Mid Boost switch!
You can adjust the Mid cap on the board to your taste from .02uf to .047uf.

Try that and when you engage the Mid Boost on the Overdrive channel its poor heaven!!!!

Not sure how this will work on a Bluesmaster but its worth a try.

The 47k slope resistor doesn’t scoop the mids in the Bluesmaster as much as the other circuits with 100k/150k slope so has less of an effect.

I have an ODS style circuit with a slope resistor switch that goes from ~44k to 120k. It's pretty handy and would give the mid boost more of an effect at the higher value slope. It would be pretty easy to implement on a push/pull pot if there's no holes available.
