Hi. Is there a layout for modifying a Fender Bandmaster AB763 into Dumble?

Well basically you'd rip out all the boards and replace them with dumble boards... I don't think you could 'mod in place' unless your'e talking about something like the ultra phonix mods etc?

Your request is a little vague.... Could you clarify what exact dumble amp you were thinking of?

I saw this somewhere: "Dumble Ultra Phonix Mod 1964 Fender Bandmaster Head" by Mr Dumble. Since I have a Bandmaster I thought I might try it out?

Using the simple 'google search' bar I've added above (or a google search on the normal google with site:ampgarage.com in the search terms) gave me this pretty quickly:

There's a schematic by 10thtx on page 4 that seems to cover it, sounds like there's no need for a 'layout' you just replace some of the existing components with different ones...

I have a couple of Bandmasters modded this way and they both sound better than my much modified Ceriatone clone that sounds quite good. Jimmy Somma at Sommatone did the initial mods such that channel 1 is clean blackface Fender and channel 2 is a drive channel. He also added effects loops and a jazz/rock switch. I don't have schematics, sorry. He had them set up with fender voiced drive channels so I changed the slope and plate resistors as well as the tone caps to Dumble values. It didn't cost much and turned out great IMO. They started life as a 67 and 68, both pawn shop specials that I picked up under $350 each.

In the absence of Jimmy's schematic, a useful Fender DIY resource is Rob's page on AB763 mods. There's a Dumble mod there that may prove useful https://robrobinette.com/AB763_Modifica ... B763_Mods_. It's more of a low plate classic thing. Personally I would go high plate with the 150 slope and 102/183 stack. That's just my preference. I find the best results on my modded Bandmaster come with an ABY pedal jumping both channels though my normal channel Fender tone stack is left untouched so I can still get that clean Fender sound. Always a compromise. Might be better in jump mode if that stack was also skylined.

The amp in the picture looks like it has two Bluesmaster style preamps and the Tweed style P.I. stage. Some of the resistor values in the amp might not be typical values per other known circuits.
