You guys are used to the shipping shuffle. I see that the Celestion G10 Vintage goes for about 30 pounds stirling over there with value added tax. I don't think I have to pay VAT do I? Anyway, what do you suppose it would cost to ship 4 of those speakers to the states by semi-slow boat? They weigh about 4 pounds each I'm thinking plus packaging. Say a twenty pound box maybe? The cheapest price I've seen here is about $86, or $25 each more than you are paying.

You don't need to pay VAT if it's going to be exported immediately outside of Europe, so if the supplier ships them to you then you can avoid VAT but if there was an intermediary involved then you'd have to add the VAT.

VAT is 17.5%, just in case they didn't include a VAT-free price, so that's what you can knock off the total.

The equivalent to USPS over here is Royal Mail (www.royalmail.co.uk) and ParcelForce (www.parcelforce.co.uk) for their parcel delivery service.

I've had a quick look at both but you really need dimensions as well as weights to get pricing.

The supplier has likely shipped quads before so will probably be able to give you either detailed dimension and weights info, or cost if they've shipped to the US before. They may also have a deal in place with one of the courier companies (we have DHL, UPS and FedEx here as well), so I'd be inclined to ask them for advice first.
