I thought I'd share what worked for me to warm up/beef up my express.

I liked the stock sound, but I like a little more full/bluesy kind of sound. So anyway, I noticed in some schematics that the .002 cap before V2 is sometimes two in parallel (.004). So I thought I'd give that a whirl (I used a .0047). Wow, not as bright, and some more gain too! A little fuller sounding.

To tame the extra gain down, I used a 12AT7 in the V1 spot. This worked well and warmed the sound up a little more to boot.

Now it's perfect! I love it. It was close before, but now...very nice.

So anyway, nice and easy to try. Probably a lot of folks who've already tried this, but I thought I'd give a little back.
