I didn't notice it before but it looks like Robben is playing through a Fender Twin.

Thanks for posting this Charlie!
I was at that gig. As were a few other members on this forum, I suspect.
Robben did indeed use the college Twin. Before the gig he asked if anyone in the audience had a chorus pedal he could borrow and away they went!
I believe that earlier that day he had just been laying down track from his up coming album 'Talk To Your Daughter'!
Happy days!
Cheers,
Paul.

How cool are those videos! Especially Charlie's with Vinnie and Roscoe, great to have those guys behind you.
Just shows what you can do with a college Twin and a splash of talent
So GIT became MI? My buddy Dom Grant from the UK studied over there in the mid 80s, anyone remember him on the guitar course? He gave me all his GP magazines from that period and what a treasure they are!

Which just goes to show what we all really know....... it's not about the gear or a Dumble amp............Charlie Wilson wrote:I didn't notice it before but it looks like Robben is playing through a Fender Twin.

I bet most here if you just posted an audio clip would say 'yeh, listen to Robben's great Dumble tone'
His rig would have been at the studio obviously if he was recording Talk to your daughter. I can here licks from that album, well and some of the songs too
Great stuff

Well, I'd say it's not all about the gear. Otherwise, why would players prefer one guitar or amp over others?
Fun videos for sure; thanks CW!

Were you attending GIT BIT PIT as well?
How cool is that though, RF tracking TTYD and then turning up and hearing some licks from the track?
I always was dead jealous when I saw the GIT "diary" ads in GP, you know, went like:
"Mon AM: Masterclass - improvisation with Mike Landau
Lunch:
PM: Sight reading then BEACH!
Evening: Concert with RF."

Yeah Rogb it was cool but sometimes my diary would read:
Mon AM: Allen Holdsworth pissed off at Eddie Van Halen
Lunch: Whatever I could afford at Burger King
Afternoon: get chassed down Hollywod Blvd. by a guy on PCP
Evening: See what nightmare drunk strippers my roommate brings home from the Seventh Veil.
Like I said ah the good old days.

Charlie,
That's pretty much how I remember it!
Really good times.......
Rogb,
I'm doing good thanks. I finally finished my 2nd Gen build after 3 years of procrastination! I haven't had the nerve to fire it up yet, but I will post pics and share with results.
All the best to all,
Paul.

It's nice to hear from you too, Paul. Get that 2nd Gen going!
I'm going to be using mine next weekend for a whole mix of stuff on the setlist. I'm confident that amp will cover everything - open D slide Esquire, 339, Tele, Strat - they are all coming out for this. No pedals on the majority of the set. Hendrix songs - Univbe, Fuzz, Wah > Marshall and 2nd Gen
