Does anyone know what type of Overdrive Special was used by Randy California?

I did a monitor mix for a Spirit show once in the late 1980s and was very impressed by Randy California's sound.

I was also impressed by the string of spit that extended from the microphone to Randy California's lower lip, as he backed away from the mic it would stretch to a foot or more before it finally snapped. He must've had some seriously viscous saliva. But his guitar tone rocked.

I don't remember much about the amp except that it was a plain-jane ODS with a black faceplate in a black tolex head, black cloth, and I don't think there was any fancy trim. He was using it with a generic looking all-black 1960A type cabinet. He also had a black-on-black Strat, black tshirt and black jeans...
