Potenciometers and resistors... any particular brand or type

Do you guys advise any particular brand or type for an express build?

I was thinking about using a mix of carbon comp/wirewound/carbon film and alpha pots...

Any other advices?

Also Why I see more people using cloth covered wire for trainwrecks? Any particular reason (just curious).

One thing about cloth covered wire is that it is single-stranded and it stays right where you put it. I have never built an amp, but when you deal with high-gain amps there's potential for oscillations and sometimes 1/4" or less can make a difference in the wires.
