TWO-ROCK Emerald 50

Post by RamblinPony »

:( Hello Amp Guys! I haven't been on in a while - I know, my bad. I just read the announcement to the Ceritone people, and it's a bit startling. Someone must have really pissed you off.

I was actually coming on here to ask for some opinions on the old TWO-ROCK Emerald 50. First off, let me say that I am an amp builder, and I've built plenty. Everything from Bassman's to Trainwrecks. I've built 3 off your site here: A Rocket, Liverpool, and an Express, and I really thank y'all for posting the layouts and keeping the information flowing!

I'm an old guy, about 60 years old, and I'm extremely familiar with Robben Ford and Eric Johnson and what I think is the classic Dumble sound. John Mayer was the bit Two-Rock guy, and I didn't really hear much of that honk in his style. But the Emerald was supposed to be some kind of Dumble knock-off. I'm not sure what they were really shooting for. They are cool amps. So, I was just coming on here to see if I could get some feedback on the Emerald 50's. I consider you guys to be the aficionados of the Dumble scene.

So I'm curious to hear some of your feedback, opinions, and ideas on the old Emerald 50's. Thanks alot!
