I know a lot of people love the eminence delta pro 12a. But it seems the imrpovements of the delta 12a versus the pro are more suited to high power PA applications rather than an improvement for guitar cabinet use.
Anyone try the delta 12a? is it a good guitar amp speaker? Trying to keep costs down!
Thanks!

Re: Eminence Delta 12a vs delta PRO 12a
I have an interest in this speaker, too. The frequency response of the two speakers looks pretty different. The PRO has a much flatter response, and the highs cut off a bit earlier and more suddenly. The 12A has more of a spike in the 2K-5K range, and the dont drop off as quickly as you go up in frequency. This could be undesirable or desirable depending on what you're after. I haven't tried one, and can't find any demos but I dont see any reason why it couldn't be a good guitar speaker, in certain applications. After all, most of the most sought after guitar speakers originally started as PA drivers. I'd bet it's somewhat comparable to an EVM or JBL tonally.
I'm not sure if I should go for one of these, or just spend a few extra bucks on a Weber or something. These look pretty interesting and I might put one in a 2x12 that I want less speaker break up from.

I came across this...
Not crazy about the recording or tone in this video, but at least it offers a comparison against some more common guitar speakers. It sounds pretty good, to me. Not spectacular, on it's own but also it's doesn't appear to sound bad in comparison. More or less what I expected based on the frequency curve provided by Eminence.

I guess, while I'm here, I'll ask anyone seeing this. Is there any major difference between the 12A and the 12B? The 12B is 16ohm, and it seems to have a slightly more narrow frequency response based on what the manufacture provided. Both the highest highs and the lowest lows seem to roll of a tad earlier, but I'm not sure how big of a difference it'd make in the real world.
