I think all my future builds will be using The 807 tube.

New ones don't hold up.... unless someone has made a better one in the last few years. I built lots of 25L15s with them....in the end the svet 6L6 was better in that amp. I thought the same thing tho...looked like a great tube spec wise.billyz wrote:Has anyone tried this tube type?

You're serious about it? On a commercial build I'd worry some dingus would stick his finger/tongue/johnson in the anode cap, or try hot swapping and God only know what else people come up with. Not everyone gets what 400V DC really is.billyz wrote:Has anyone tried this tube type? I think all my future builds will be using The 807 tube.
https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.ph ... hlight=807...I've had great luck with 807's in Fender builds so far but they can oscillate like a mofo unless you add a 10 Ohm resistor wrapped with 10 turns of wire. This is an old ham trick that acts as a low Q choke to prevent RF oscillations. I'm thinking a head would be cooler and more in tune with my current needs...

I'm laughing but I'm kinda bummed, I was hoping for a good 807 discussion...
