Broken speaker terminal plate

Post by AcornHouse »

Ok, while soldering up a speaker cab, the jack plate slipped and broke off the terminal plate off the speaker. Luckily, I hadn't soldering the wire on yet, it was just clipped on, so the lead wires to the terminal plate didn't get ripped off.
Silly slip, I know. But how do I get the terminal plate, which appears to be cardboard-like (it's a Weber speaker), reattached? It broke off right at the basket.

Thanks in advance.

It's probably riveted on, right? You can drill out the rivet and reattach with nut and bolt.

The rivots are on the bit that stayed attached to the basket. The rest snapped cleanly off.

Maybe CA glue the plate at the break, with some reinforcing material glued across the joint on both sides?

drill the rivet. make sure to catch all the metal shavings . and replace it with a larger nut ,bolt and washer.Like Christian said
If there's not enough meat left to bolt down then you probably ned new terminal piece

There was a thread here just recently about where to find replacements plates for the spade terminals.
