Is there an FAQ? I'm trying to make sense of some of the different amps (still in the learning phase).

What is the Hybrid A?

What is the HRM?

What is the Dumbleator?

A lot of the layouts I've seen in discussions are followed up with changes and corrections. Are there finalized layouts for any of these?

What is the Hybrid A?

It's a 70's architecture with 90's values on Rp and Rk. Look in the Dumble files section for the schematic.

What is the HRM?

"Hot Rubber Monkey". It refers to the post overdrive tone stack trims that Dumble used in the 90's amps. There's also other changes in the architecture of the amp, again files section.

What is the Dumbleator?

It's a tube buffered effects loop. Dumble built these in 1 space racks for connection into the passive loop on the amp.

Nope. The first thing you have to learn about a Dumble is that there's no ONE schematic or layout. Dumble constantly evolved his amps and there are many versions that can be copied. If any one is close it would be the D-Lite. Many folks, especally dogears, modify their amps constantly to try to perfect the tone. Speakers and cabinet have a big effect on the tone too, so again, no there's no one schematic or layout. If it were that simple we wouldn't be here.

If I were to do it all over again, I think I'd start with a standard 80's circuit with the fender RP/RK values. That way you have the opportunity to hear it in it's "Natural" state, then you can make the "Hybrid A" mods and let your own ears decide. It really only takes a little while to make the changes, and you can hear what they do one at a time.

The HRM is a totally different animal, and I'd say reserve that for a second or third build, they seem to be a bit more sensitive to component values/types, and as a first build may be a bit more of an undertaking. JMHO

I've actually done a good bit of searching. A lot of the discussions have a wealth of information, but I still don't have the context to quite make that first step. I've found a lot of, "This is a good option in the HRM" type discussions, but I need that first step, "This is an HRM."

Funk, thank you very much. Which circuit would be a good example of a standard 80's build? What are the Fender RP/RK values? I have a lot of ODS 124 pics that Dogears and Normster set me up with. There is a bit of a layout in the 124 pics, but nothing complete.
