start-up amp company "stocktone"

Post by eniam rognab »

hurry up and get on the waitlist at my new company StockTone!

my team of engineers (me) will take that heavily modded amp and turn it back into the polite tone sucker it was made to be!

services include:
removing three prong power cords and installing super leaky "fun" caps
installing 70 y/o+ electrolytics i spent three months sourcing from herzegovina
selenium rectifiers
special conductive "tone" boards
plus every unit will be treated to our three step expanding goop process to render the amp completely un-serviceable, to preserve that sweet sweet "StockTone"

send me all your amps and money now! i will be relocating to Stockton CA, seems fitting..

Good, Stockton needs a business. Down-at-the-heels place that it is.

Don't forget your proprietary NOiSy vacuum tubes. I have boxes full to send you. "Maracatone" rattly GE 6L6GC and "screamer" microphonic Mullards. Special "white" air-tubes at slight extra charge.

oh good ideal leo! lovingly mismatched to increase the "tone" floor!

also, for geriatrics - visible size indicator lights!

Will you be offering to return transformerless "hot chassis" amps to their original specifications?

Owners of those amplifiers would surely appreciate having tone-sucking isolation transformers removed. :D

the "fun" cap mod is still in development, im trying to find out which cap feels the most stock (dangerous work)

cantplay is my senior engineer, well versed in the stockification of amps, trademark

there will also be a "stock" knob where you can dial in the amount of "stock" we are still trying to figure this out

Funny you should mention pilot lights.

I am working now on a design that will improve fidelity by 20% in any amp made, tube or SS. :D
It will never burn out and draws very little current.

Bottom line?
$300

Get'em while you can before the price goes up.

Why only have a pilot light? Adding an additional co-pilot light should enable another 20% improvement, yes?

If it's headroom you want, I suggest moving the whole operation to Colorado .... what with the new legal growing environment there. Tom's pilot light looks powerful enough to grow up a stellar crop.

You need to buy a broken down building in a ghost town.

You just described Syracuse. But I don't recommend it. Too cold, and there is a serious infestation of deeply entrenched politicians here.

What's that? A bead of Cobalt-60?

Just the thing to illuminate a hot-chassis amp.
