I read about deliberate mismatches - 4 ohm load 8 ohm tap for example. What do you believe you are getting/hearing? Same question for using a long speaker cable. I have the parts for a 20' cable but haven't assembled it yet.
Has anyone built a 'tuner' that could tweak the mismatch up or down an ohm or two? I ask this question knowing zero about loads/current which is why I don't muck about with amp innards.

Re: Impedance mismatch questions
AS far as the speaker cable goes, I believe only the resistance of that cable would play a part.
And with a 20 foot cable that is at least 14ga, I don't think there will be any appreciable resistance.
