Nice!
Have you done some standard mods or it's stock?

Re: another tubescreamer clone
I can build it just about any way, but standard I make it with the less/more 1M drive control and the keely mod. I got hold of some nichicon .18u film caps to replace the usual tantalums. I really sounds good. I gave a few to some guitarists I know and they now use it as their main overdrive pedal. One of them works for a MAJOR amplifier manufacturing company (cant mention). I thought about making it available as a kit cause a lot of people, including myself, love building stuff. I'm going to get some gut shots up later.

Looks like a nice pedal. We're builders, so you should discuss your circuit and what's good and different about it. What's with the secrecy? Some guy who uses it works at a amplifier company that can't be mentioned? Huh? I didn't know companies fired their employees for using pedals. I don't like tubescreamers and I don't work for an ampflier company that I can't mention. Anyone else in that miserable situation?

I only see red xs
Re: another tubescreamer clone
He works for the parent company and they manufacture pedals under a subsidiary. He asked me not to use his name so I wont. Thats that. And as far as being good or different? It sounds awesome. Thats the good. As most tubescreamers and clones do. Different? Nothing really. Thats why they dont sell well. Too many clones out there.vibratoking wrote:Looks like a nice pedal. Thanks for posting the pics. Good quality pics. Good part quality and you've got what looks like a tight, manufacturable build. I like the way you took the time to layout the pcb so that it directly mates to the housing. Nice. You mentioned different caps. What kind of improvement do you hear with those?
What is the Keeley mod, or should I get off my lazy ass and google it?

Thanks. Ease of assembly was one of my major goals. The values on the original tubescreamer are .22u tantalums. The .18u value are what keely uses. [not verified by me, used info from net]. Also I used film caps vs. the tants. Sounds less harsh than the tantalums IMHO.
Yes , you shouldWhat is the Keeley mod, or should I get off my lazy ass and google it?

Standard mods to TS9s are the more/less mod and the TS808 conversion, plus a bit more bass and the symmetric/asymmetric/led clipping.
