poly? caps

Post by galtjunk »

I used the pvc caps in the Express I built.

It looks like pvc caps are now unobtainable.

My current build is a Rocket with a Liverpool to follow.

What available caps work best with the various Trainwreck circuits?

Polyester?
Polypropylene?
Polystyrene?

Does any particular brand work better than the others?

I think the 6PS caps are really similar to the PVC caps

I really want to try some 6PS. Are they still pretty cheap?

Enable my laziness and post a link, would you?

So these are the same as the Dumble stuff or no? Has production stayed the same all this time?

Thanks, guys.

I had a DOH! moment there. For some reason I wasn't connecting the PS with the 6 in front and thought these were some older caps that weren't around anymore. I've seen the PS on CE Dist. Thought they were different.

I do want to try the Rusky PIOs, though. Prices aren't too bad on fleabay. My only issue is they're a little big. I don't know if I could ever use a .1uf. :(

Blackburn,

"I don't know if I could ever use a .1uf. "
How bout C9 and C11 on the PI of the Liverpool? Just happen to be looking at it.
Or you just don't like them there? Another value?

See ya!

JoeCon,

Sorry, I didn't clarify that I meant the physical size of the .1uf Rusky PIOs, which I just got a bundle of. The boards I use are smaller and these caps in particular are pretty big, but thankfully, they actually can work for me with what I'm using now, board wise.

I have no problem with that value in those positions. :)

I get it. Getting stuff to fit on my first build is the biggest headache.
But it's a learn as you go exercise. Next build will be fitted with all the parts first. Lots of "cooling" holes on my current try!

Thanks...
