We Can't Let Our Kitties Out!

Post by David Root »

Check out this pic, they were there when we got up. They appear healthy, looks like a bonded male & female to me.Never seen this before in the four years we've been here in Maple Ridge.

Oh no!

We had a coon a few years ago come up to the house it was during an Ice strom. The first time I seen him he was going under or house.I knew our kitties liked to hang out under there.I thought that damn coon going to kill my kitty. So i got dressed and shined a flashlight under there. The coon and my big tom cat were curled up together sleeping!I've nevr seen anything like it.

his little paws were tore up from the Ice so we feed him some dog food he went away when things thawed. He was never aggressive towards any of our animals.

They probaly won't mess with your kitties unless your kitties would be willing to fight them over food.

Do NOT install a doggie door!

Racoons can be very vicious.

Well I let Albert out, and siffed all around the deck then immediately went next door, looking for them I guess.

I still don't understand why they were at our door though, our winter has not been harsh by local standards. Maybe just curious?

They have probly been fed by people before. So there like you should feed us too.

I've seen coons around campgrounds here that you can feed by hand.

I had a raccoon as a pet when I was a teen. Found it in the woods, mama dead on the road. What a great pet, for almost two years. I took him most places with me on my shoulder. He would sun in the trees for hours and come down to take a few laps around the pool. He had his moments though. He could turn into a meat grinder at the drop of a hat.
...The coon and my big tom cat were curled up together sleeping!...
That raccoon was mostly docile, but he never saw a cat he didn't kill...instantaneously.

Those were the days...

Coons will indeed come into your house through a doggie door! I had one in my closet once, kinda growling and such. It was kinda scary. He was gone later after I left and came back.
Don't you boys know any NICE songs?
